About Woodchurch Marriages 1538-1978
This database was compiled between January 2005 and December 2007 by Bob Chown of the Woodchurch Ancestry Group using the film viewing facilities at Canterbury Cathedral Archives and the original parish registers held at the Centre for Kentish Studies, Maidstone. It was extended with the help of Josie Mackie in January 2008 to its present year range. It contains details of 2410 marriages celebrated at All Saints parish church, Woodchurch, Kent between 1538 and 1978. The database includes all of the information recorded including, where available, in addition to details of the groom and bride, their respective fathers, witnesses to the marriage and the officiating minister. For marriages occuring before 1837, it is important to read these accompanying notes.
This web-based version of Bob Chown's original database was created by Gary Samson in October 2005 and the new entries incorporated in February 2008. It was further extended in August 2008.
